- Account information: information you provide when creating or managing an account, such as your name, email address, profile information, university or society affiliation, and account credentials.
- User content: information you choose to post or submit, including messages, comments, event information, society posts, profile content, images, and reports.
- Usage and technical information: information associated with your use of the app, such as device information, app version, log information, and interactions with features. This information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve SociLiNK.
- Location information: where a location-based feature requires it and you grant the relevant device permission. You can control location permissions through your device settings.
2. How We Use Information

- provide and operate SociLiNK and its features;
- create and manage user accounts and profiles;
- enable interactions between students, societies, events, and other users;
- process and review reports, moderation requests, and safety concerns;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, and protect the service and its users;

3. User-Generated Content
SociLiNK includes features that allow users to create and share content. Content you choose to make visible to other users may be viewed by those users and may be associated with your profile. Do not post sensitive personal information that you do not want other users to see.
If you see content that violates our rules or creates a safety concern, you can report it using the ••• menu on the relevant message, event, or society post.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share information when reasonably necessary to operate SociLiNK, provide services on our behalf, maintain security, respond to legal requests, or protect the rights and safety of users and others.
We do not sell your personal information as a product to advertisers. We may use service providers that process information on our behalf, subject to appropriate contractual or technical safeguards.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the circumstances.
6. Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your SociLiNK account directly in the app by going to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and following the confirmation steps.
Contact support@socilink.app if you cannot access the in-app deletion option.
Some information may need to be retained for a limited period where required by law, necessary for security, or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
7. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing. 8. Permissions and Device Controls
SociLiNK may request permissions such as notifications, photos, camera, or location when a feature needs them. You can generally grant, deny, or change these permissions through your device settings. Disabling a permission may limit the related feature.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

SociLiNK is intended for users who are legally permitted to use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where doing so would violate applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, contact us so we can review the situation.
11. Third-Party Services
SociLiNK may rely on third-party infrastructure, analytics, authentication, hosting, communications, or other service providers to operate parts of the service. Those providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and may have their own privacy policies.
